NTRIP RTK Receiver Compatibility

VKLink supplies correction streams for current agricultural receivers and for older equipment that does not behave well on a modern survey-oriented stream.

Compatibility is more than an NTRIP login

A receiver must be RTK-capable, have the required unlock or activation, accept an appropriate correction format and have a working data path to the internet. Automatic reference-station selection also requires a valid GGA position from the machine.

VKLink can provide CMR, CMR+, reduced-message RTCM 3, RTCM MSM and selected legacy formats. We choose the stream around the receiver rather than expecting every receiver to digest the same data.

Known working and documented equipment

The following models have a field-proven or documented VKLink setup path. Model revisions, firmware, unlocks and machine wiring can still differ, so contact us before purchasing hardware for an unusual installation.

Correction formats available

CMR and CMR+
Low-bandwidth correction formats suited to many Trimble and compatible legacy agricultural receivers.
Reduced-message RTCM 3
An agriculture-focused RTCM stream that carries the observations a receiver needs without loading it with every available constellation and message.
RTCM MSM
Modern multi-signal streams for receivers designed for MSM observations. VKLink can provide MSM3, MSM4, MSM5, MSM6 and MSM7 variants where required.
Legacy RTCM
Available for specific older applications. Confirm the receiver model and required messages with VKLink before relying on this option.

Datums and existing farm maps

Australia's GDA94 and GDA2020 coordinates differ by roughly 1.8 metres. Choosing the wrong datum can move saved guidance lines even when the receiver has a perfect RTK fix. VKLink provides GDA2020 as the normal Australian option but also supports GDA94 and selected international datums for existing equipment and mapping workflows.

Before connecting a machine

  • Confirm the receiver is unlocked or activated for RTK.
  • Confirm its supported correction format and serial baud rate.
  • Confirm the machine can return a GGA position, nominally every 10 seconds.
  • Choose the datum used by the farm's existing guidance lines.
  • Check the farm against the public VKLink coverage map.

Receiver not listed?

An omitted model is not automatically incompatible. If it accepts external NTRIP, RTCM or CMR corrections, there is a reasonable chance it can be supported. Send us the receiver model, display model, firmware version and available correction settings and we will assess it before recommending hardware.
